ABOUT MCGOWAN'S OLDE TYME SPRING SPICED TEA
When I was a boy, not only did my mother make wassail (link), she made a summertime powdered drink she called spiced tea. It was very refreshing to mix a few spoonfuls into some water and drink over ice on a hot summer day! Coincidentally, there was some crossover with the taste of her wassail. Growing up in the South, we have a thing for sweet tea. In my home state of Kentucky, we have a thing for mint. I put all these concepts together (and added a touch of love) to create my own McGowan’s Olde Tyme Spring Spiced Tea. Taste it and you, too, may find yourself simultaneously refreshed and transported to a warm spring day and a simpler time.
